Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh (1788–1861) was an important person in Wales. He owned a large property called the Gwrych Castle estate. This estate was located in the historic area of Denbighshire. Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh was born in 1788. His parents were Frances Lloyd of Gwrych and Robert Bamford-Hesketh. His family had a long history in the area. They were known as the Lloyds of Gwrych. They lived in a place called 'Plâs yn Gwrych'. This home was along the coast between Abergele and Llanddulas.
The Family Home and Estate
For many years, the Lloyd family worked on their estate. They created a beautiful home with fancy gardens. They also built other important buildings. These included a special bathing house and large walled gardens. These gardens were used to grow food and flowers.
Building Gwrych Castle
Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh built Gwrych Castle. He designed it himself. He wanted it to be a special tribute to his mother and her family. He loved old buildings and history. He was even a member of the Society of Antiquaries. This group studies old objects and history.

Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh passed away in 1861. He was 73 years old. His son, Robert Bamford-Hesketh, inherited Gwrych Castle. Robert was born in 1826 and lived until 1894. He married Ellen Jones-Bateman in 1851. The castle remains an important part of Welsh history.
