Lluís-Anton Baulenas (born September 21, 1958, in Barcelona) is a well-known Catalan writer. He is famous for writing novels and plays. He also works as a translator, which means he changes books from one language to another.

Lluís-Anton Baulenas's Writing Journey

Lluís-Anton Baulenas has written many interesting books. Some of his novels include Rampoines 451 (from 1990) and Noms a la sorra (from 1995). Noms a la sorra was even a finalist for the important Sant Jordi Prize.

His book El fil de plata (from 1998) won two big awards: the Serra d'Or Critics' Prize and the Carlemany Novel Award. Another novel, La felicitat (from 2001), received the Prudenci Bertrana Prize.

Some of his stories have become movies! The film director Ventura Pons adapted three of his novels for the screen. These were Amor d'idiota (from 2003), Àrea de servei (from 2007), and La vostra Anita (from 2015).

Baulenas's work is read all over the world. His books have been translated into about twelve different languages. He has also translated classic books himself, from French and English into Catalan. Some of the authors he has translated include Truman Capote and George Orwell. He also writes articles about culture and books for newspapers like El País and La Vanguardia.
