How Long & Foster Started
Long & Foster Real Estate was started in 1968 by two friends, P. Wesley "Wes" Foster Jr. and Henry "Hank" Long. Wes Foster focused on helping families buy and sell homes. Hank Long worked with bigger businesses and properties.
After 11 years, in July 1979, Wes Foster became the only owner of the company. He also became its main leader, known as the CEO and chairman. Wes Foster had worked in real estate since 1963, learning a lot about building and selling homes. He passed away in March 2023.
