About Lorena's Art Career
Lorena Kloosterboer studied fine arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Later, she took many art classes in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.
Lorena paints many different things. Her subjects include colorful candies, shiny marbles, seashells, silverware, and beautiful glass and ceramic items. One special series of her paintings is called Tempus ad Requiem. This is Latin for 'Time to Rest'. These paintings show birds resting on ceramic or glass objects. Lorena's Sculptures
In 1991, Lorena Kloosterboer showed her first bronze sculpture. It was a jester, officially named De Nar. A Dutch carnival group asked her to make it for their 25th anniversary. This jester sculpture is now on public display at De Warenar, a cultural center in Wassenaar.
Later, Lorena created four more bronze sculptures. These are known as De Boomstronken, which means 'The Tree Trunks'. You can also see these sculptures in public places in Wassenaar. A book called "Beeldend Wassenaar" even shows pictures of these sculptures and their locations. It helps people find them on walking and biking trails.
