For six years, Louise Peltzer was a government minister in French Polynesia. She was in charge of things like culture, higher education (which means universities and colleges), and research. This means she helped make decisions about schools, arts, and new discoveries for the people of French Polynesia.
In 2005, Louise Peltzer was chosen to be the president of the University of French Polynesia. She was chosen again in 2009, serving a second term. The president of a university helps lead the school and makes sure students get a good education.
In June 2007, she received a special award called the Officer of the Order of Tahiti Nui. This award is given to people who have done great things for French Polynesia. She left her position at the university in June 2011.
