Lovely Professional University (LPU) is a large private university. It is located in Chaheru, a village near Phagwara in Punjab, India. The university was started in 2005 by the Lovely International Trust. It officially began teaching students in 2006.

Campus
The LPU campus is very big! It covers about 112 acres of land. You can find it in Chaheru Village right on the main road between Jalandhar and Delhi.
Governance
The university was founded by Ashok Kumar Mittal. He is also the Chancellor of LPU. His wife, Rashmi Mittal, helps manage the university as the Pro-Chancellor.
Academics
LPU offers many different subjects for students to learn. They have special schools for various topics. These include business, fashion design, engineering, law, education, agriculture, humanities, and tourism.
Affiliations
Being "affiliated" means that important groups recognize LPU. This shows that LPU meets high standards for teaching. Some of these groups include the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Pharmacy Council of India. The Bar Council of India also recognizes LPU.
LPU's School of Agriculture is approved by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. LPU is also a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. This group connects universities from many different countries.

It was ranked 38th among just universities.
