Lucas Severino (born on January 3, 1979), often called Lucas, is a former professional football player from Brazil. He was a forward, which means he played in an attacking position to score goals. Lucas even played for the Brazilian national team at the Olympic Games in Australia in 2000.

Lucas's Football Journey
Starting in Brazil and Moving to France
Lucas Severino was born in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil. He started his football career in Brazil with clubs like Botafogo (SP) and then Atlético Paranaense.
In 2000, Lucas moved to France to play for Ligue 1 team Rennes. He played 72 league games for them over three seasons and scored six goals.
Playing in Japan with FC Tokyo
On January 1, 2004, Lucas Severino joined J1 League club FC Tokyo in Japan. He played for FC Tokyo for four seasons. During this time, he helped the team win the J.League Cup in 2004, which was a big achievement.
Moving to Gamba Osaka
After four successful years with FC Tokyo, Lucas Severino moved to another J1 League club, Gamba Osaka, on January 1, 2008. He played for Gamba Osaka for three years.
Returning to FC Tokyo
After his time with Gamba Osaka, Lucas had a short period playing back in Brazil for Atlético Paranaense in 2011. He then decided to retire from playing football.
However, in July 2011, Lucas made a comeback! He returned to his former club, FC Tokyo, which was then in the J2 League. His return was very helpful, and he played a key role in helping FC Tokyo get promoted back to the top division, the J1 League. He continued to play for FC Tokyo until 2013.
Playing for His Country
Lucas Severino also represented his country, Brazil. He played 14 games for the Brazil U23 team. He was part of the team that played in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Australia, where he played in three matches.
