Ludwig Eichrodt's father, Ludwig Friedrich Eichrodt, was an officer. His mother was Elisabeth Eichrodt. Ludwig went to universities in Heidelberg and Freiburg to study.
In 1848, he published some funny songs. These songs were called “Wanderlust.” They appeared in a magazine named Fliegende Blätter. These songs became very popular with many people.
