Ludwig Roth (June 10, 1909 – November 1, 1967) was a brilliant aerospace engineer. He was born in Germany. He helped design advanced rockets that were important for space travel.

Ludwig Roth was an amazing engineer who worked on rockets. He was born on June 10, 1909, and passed away on November 1, 1967. He led a special team in Germany called the Peenemünde Future Projects Office.

Designing Advanced Rockets

Ludwig Roth's team designed important rockets. One of their designs was the Wasserfall rocket. They also created plans for very advanced rockets like the A9/A10. These designs were a big step forward in rocket technology.

A New Life in America

After World War II, Ludwig Roth moved to the United States. He arrived in New York on November 16, 1945. He was part of a program called Operation Paperclip. This program brought German scientists to the U.S. to help with research.

He worked at places like Fort Bliss and Huntsville, Alabama. Later, he and his family moved to Palos Verdes, California.

A Family Legacy in Space

Ludwig Roth's family continued his passion for engineering and space. His son, Axel Roth, became an engineer for NASA. He even became an Associate Director at the Marshall Space Flight Center.

Another son, Volker, worked for Boeing. He was a manager for Space Lab Design. Ludwig's grandson, Karl Roth, also works in the space field. He helps support the International Space Station's systems.
