Luksong baka facts for kids
Luksong Baka (which means "Jump over the Cow" in English) is a fun and active traditional game from the Philippines. It started in a place called Bulacan. This game is played by at least 3 people, but no more than 10. The main idea is for players to jump over another person, who is called the baka (the cow). The goal is to jump over the baka without touching them or falling!

How to Play
The game begins by choosing one player to be the taya (which means "it"). In this game, the taya is also called the bakang lala, or the "cow."
Starting Position
The baka player starts by kneeling down. They bend over with their hands placed on their knees. This makes a "back" for the other players to jump over.
Taking Turns to Jump
All the other players take turns jumping over the baka. They must try their best not to touch or fall on the baka player. Only the hands of the jumper are allowed to lightly touch the baka's back for balance.
The Baka Rises
After everyone has jumped over the baka once, the baka player slowly stands up a little bit more. This makes the jump harder for the next round! The baka will keep getting taller after each successful round of jumps.
What Happens if You Touch or Fall?
If a player touches the baka too much, or if they fall over, they become the new baka! The game then restarts with the new baka in the kneeling position.
Ending the Game
The game continues with players taking turns jumping and the baka getting taller. Players can decide to end the game whenever they want. It's a great way to get exercise and have fun with friends!
