Francis Lumsden Hare (born October 17, 1874 – died August 28, 1964) was an Irish actor. He was famous for his work in both film and theatre. He also worked as a theatre director and theatrical producer, helping to create plays and shows.
Early Life and Education
Lumsden Hare was born in Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland. He later moved to London, England, where he studied at St. Dunstan's College.
A Career on Stage and Screen

Lumsden Hare had a very long and successful acting career. He appeared in many plays on Broadway, which is a famous theatre district in New York City. His first Broadway show was in 1900. One of his early hits was the play What Every Woman Knows in 1908. He acted in over 35 Broadway shows until 1942.
Besides acting, Lumsden Hare also directed and produced some of these plays. This means he helped decide how the play would look and sound, and managed the whole production.
In 1916, he started acting in movies. He appeared in more than 140 films! He also acted in over a dozen television shows. His last acting role was in 1961, when he was 86 years old.
Personal Life
Lumsden Hare was married to an actress named Selene Johnson. He passed away on August 28, 1964, in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 89.
