About Lupe Mejía

Lupe Mejía was born in Ciudad Obregón, a city in Sonora, Mexico. She started singing when she was only 7 years old. She would sing at school events and for her family and friends. Her journey to becoming a professional singer began when she joined a singing contest on a television channel.

Her First Songs

Lupe Mejía went to Mexico City to record her first song, "La flecha." This song was released by Peerless Records. It quickly became very popular, making her one of the most promising new singers in Mexico.

Her first music album was also called La flecha. It included other well-known songs like "Cuando te hagan sufrir," "La fórmula," and "El pájaro desplumado." Many of her songs released by Peerless Records became big hits.

Acting Career

Because she was so successful and popular as a singer, Lupe Mejía also got to act in several Mexican movies. She appeared in films such as Condenados a muerte (1963) and El revólver sangriento (1964). In these movies, she worked alongside other famous singers like Antonio Aguilar and Juan Mendoza.
