Early Life and School Days
Lydia Forson was born in Mankessim, Ghana. When she was young, she went to Wilmore Elementary School in Kentucky, USA. At age nine, her family moved back to Ghana. There, she continued her studies at Akosombo International School. She also attended St. Louis Secondary School in Kumasi.
After high school, Lydia went to the University of Ghana. She earned a bachelor's degree in English Language and Information Studies.
Lydia Forson's Acting Career
Lydia Forson started her acting journey in 2005. She had a small role in a show called Hotel St. James. She also appeared in Run Baby Run (2006) and Different Shades of Blue (2007). In 2007, she was part of a reality show in Nigeria called The Next Movie Star.
Her big break came in 2008. She played the main character in a drama called Scorned. This movie was directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso. Shirley had worked with Lydia before on a TV series. Lydia's role in Scorned earned her a nomination for the Africa Movie Academy Awards. This was for Best Upcoming Female Actress.
In 2009, Lydia starred in another popular film. It was called The Perfect Picture. In this movie, she played a wife who seeks revenge. Since then, she has been in many other films. These include A Sting in a Tale (2009) and Masquerades (2011). She also helped write the comedy Masquerades. Other movies she starred in are Phone Swap (2012), Keteke (2017), and Sidechic Gang (2017). In 2014, she wrote and produced a film called A Letter From Adam.
