Early Life and School Days
Lydia Forson was born in Mankessim, Ghana, on October 24, 1984. She started school in Kentucky, USA, at Wilmore Elementary School. When she was nine, her family moved back to Ghana. There, she went to Akosombo International School. She also studied at St. Louis Secondary School in Kumasi. After high school, Lydia went to the University of Ghana. She earned a degree in English Language and Information Studies.
Her Acting Journey
Lydia Forson's acting career began with small roles. She appeared in Hotel St. James (2005) and Run Baby Run (2006). She also acted in Different Shades of Blue (2007). In 2007, she was part of a reality show called The Next Movie Star in Nigeria.
In 2008, Lydia got a main role in the drama Scorned. This movie was directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso. Shirley had worked with Lydia before on a TV series. For her role in Scorned, Lydia was nominated for an Africa Movie Academy Award. This was for Best Upcoming Female Actress.
In 2009, Lydia starred in another award-winning film. It was called The Perfect Picture. In this movie, she played a wife who seeks revenge. She also acted in A Sting in a Tale (2009).
