The Story of MCL Restaurants
MCL Restaurant & Bakery started a long time ago, in 1950. It began with just one cafeteria in Indianapolis, Indiana. Two friends, Charles O. McGaughey and George Laughner, founded the company. The name "MCL" comes from the first letters of their last names: McGaughey and Laughner.
Today, MCL is still a family-owned business. The McGaughey family now owns the company completely. In 2007, the company changed its name from "MCL Cafeterias" to "MCL Restaurant & Bakery." Even with the new name, the way they make their delicious food stayed the same.
What is a Cafeteria-Style Restaurant?
MCL is known for its "cafeteria-style" dining. This means you walk along a line and pick out the dishes you want. You can see all the food before you choose. It's a bit like a school lunch line, but with many more choices and often more fancy dishes. This style lets you create your own meal exactly how you like it.
