About MOCA London

MOCA London is a unique art museum that started in 1994. It was created to be a "project-based" museum. This means it doesn't need a big, permanent building to show art. Instead, it focuses on creating special art projects and exhibitions.

These projects can include many types of art, like sculptures, videos, paintings, photos, and art installations. MOCA London plans these projects for both online spaces and specific real-world locations.

The Project Space

In January 2004, MOCA London opened a special project space. This space is located at 113 Bellenden Road in Peckham Rye, South London. This space helps MOCA create exhibitions that are connected to the local area but also have a global feel.

The project space is a place where both famous and new artists can create art that isn't just for selling. Artists can take their time to develop their ideas, working with MOCA London. This means that new art projects are shown when they are completely ready.

Because of this cooperative way of working, the project space doesn't have a fixed schedule for shows. Artworks are displayed when they are finished and ready to be seen. MOCA London is also planning a new space especially for younger artists to show their work.
