Maceo Woods began his music career in 1954. His first release was a song called Amazing Grace with Vee-Jay Records. He released 25 albums over more than 50 years. He worked with many well-known music companies like Vee-Jay Records, Volt Records, Arista Records, and Stax Records. Maceo Woods started recording music in 1954. His first song was Amazing Grace, released by Vee-Jay Records. This song sold more than 200,000 copies!

His album Hello Sunshine was released in 1970 by Volt Records. This was his only album to appear on a Billboard magazine chart. The album reached number 45 on the R&B Albums chart. The song "Hello Sunshine" from that album also reached number 28 on the R&B Singles chart.
