Madeline Brandeis facts for kids
Madeline Brandeis (born December 18, 1897 – died June 28, 1937) was an American author who wrote many books for children. She was also a film producer and director.
Madeline Brandeis was most famous for her book series, "Children of America" and "Children of All Lands." These books often told fictional stories. What made them special was that they included real photographs taken by Madeline herself. Child actors played the characters in these photos.

A Storyteller in Books and Film
Madeline Brandeis was not just a writer. She also helped start a film company called The Little Players' Film Co. This company had offices in New York and Chicago. Its movies were unique because almost all the actors were children!
She wrote, directed, and paid for her first movie, The Star Prince, in 1918. It was later released in 1920 with a new name, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. She also produced and directed a film series called Children of All Lands (1928/29). This series included films like The Little Dutch Tulip Girl, The Little Indian Weaver, and The Little Swiss Wood-Carver.
Her Life and Family
Madeline Frank was born in San Francisco. She married E. John Brandeis in 1918. They later separated in 1921. Madeline had a daughter named Marie, who was born in 1920.
Sadly, Madeline Brandeis died in Gallup, New Mexico, in 1937. She was in a car accident while driving with her daughter from New York to Los Angeles.
