Early Life and Family

Magdalen Eldon was the oldest daughter of Simon Fraser, 14th Lord Lovat, who was a Scottish nobleman. Her mother was Laura, whose father was Thomas Lister, 4th Baron Ribblesdale.

On April 10, 1934, Magdalen married John Scott, 4th Earl of Eldon. He was also a nobleman with a special title. They had two sons and later adopted two daughters. Their oldest son eventually inherited his father's title.

Helping Others

Magdalen Eldon was very dedicated to helping people. In 1953, she was given the OBE award. This was for her work as the Deputy President of the British Red Cross in Devon, England. The Red Cross is a well-known organization that helps people in need, especially during emergencies or disasters.

Magdalen was also a very religious person. She helped organize special quiet times for people to think and pray. She also visited people in prison to offer support. She was known for her kindness and modesty.
