Magical × Heroine Magimajo Pures (魔法×戦士 マジマジョピュアーズ!, Mahō Senshi Majimajo Pyuāzu!) is a fun Japanese TV show. It aired from April 1, 2018, to March 24, 2019. This series is the second part of the Girls × Heroine Series. It was made by Takara Tomy and OLM, Inc.. The show is about a group of middle school girls. They become Magical Heroines to protect people's dreams.
The main actors also formed a Japanese idol girl group called Magical². They released music to promote the show. After Magimajo Pures! ended in 2019, a new show called Secret × Heroine Phantomirage! followed it.

What is Magical × Heroine Magimajo Pures! About?
The story begins with the Nuisance World trying to take over. They steal special magical gemstones called Majoka Jewels (マジョカジュエル). These jewels are turned into dark crystals called Akirame Stone (あきらめストーン). These stones mess with people's dreams. They turn people into dark, villainous Akiramest (アキラメスト) monsters.
Momoka, a regular middle school student, is called to action. Mokonyan, a fairy from the Magical World, asks her to help. Momoka joins two other Magical Heroines, Rin and Mitsuki. Together, they form the Magimajo Pures. Their mission is to turn the Akiramests back into Majoka Jewels using their magic. This process is called "purelizing."
Who are the Characters in Magimajo Pures!?
The show has many interesting characters from different worlds.
The Magimajo Pures Magical Girls
The main characters are first-year middle school students. They transform into magical girls called Magimajo Pures. They use a special item called a Majoka Porte and their own Majoka Jewels. Each girl has a magic wand called a Majoka Lumina. Different Majoka Jewels let them cast different spells. These spells help them defeat their enemies. As the series goes on, their Majoka Jewels become stronger Royal Jewels. This allows them to change into a powerful Royal Mode. The team starts with Momoka, Rin, and Mitsuki. Later, Shiori joins them after being saved. Finally, Yuria becomes the fifth member.
- Momoka Aino (愛乃モモカ, Aino Momoka)
- Played by Yuki Miyoshi.
- Momoka is the pink-colored Heart Magical Heroine. Her Majoka Jewel is the Heart Ruby (ハートルビー, Hāto Rubī). She is a bright and energetic student full of dreams. Her magic helps purify people's hearts. Her catchphrase is "That's magical!"
- Rin Shirayuki (白雪リン, Shirayuki Rin)
- Played by Momoka Sumitani.
- Rin is the blue-colored Frozen Magical Heroine. She uses the Frozen Sapphire (フローズンサファイア, Furōzun Safaia). Rin is from the Magical World. She is very smart and loves to read. Her magic can freeze things and help calm people down. Her catchphrase is "How mysterious!"
- Mitsuki Hanamori (花守ミツキ, Hanamori Mitsuki)
- Played by Misaki Tsuruya.
- Mitsuki is the yellow-colored Flower Magical Heroine. Her Majoka Jewel is the Flower Citrine (フラワーシトリン, Furawā Shitorin). She is also from the Magical World. Mitsuki loves sports and is very good at them. Her magic makes people feel energetic. Her catchphrase is "Happy flower circles!"
- Shiori Hoshina (星奈シオリ, Hoshina Shiori)
- Played by Youka Ogawa.
- Shiori is a mysterious Magical Heroine. She was controlled by Jamahiko at first. After being saved, she is revealed as the purple-colored Star and Moon Magical Heroine. She uses the Star Amethyst (スターアメジスト, Sutā Amejisuto). Shiori is a stylish girl who loves fashion. She uses the Majoka Palette (マジョカパレット) to transform. Her magic shoots starlight beams at enemies.
- Yuria Nijiiro (虹色ユリア, Nijiiro Yuria)
- Played by Kurea Masuda.
- Yuria is the rainbow-colored Rainbow Magical Heroine. She has the Rainbow Diamond (レインボーダイヤモンド, Reinbō Daiyamondo). Yuria has the spirit of a unicorn and uses powerful magic. She came to Earth to protect the other four girls. Yuria transforms with the Majoka Iris (マジョカアイリス). This item holds the powers of all the Majoka Jewels. Her magic creates protective barriers. She is a bit shy but has a kind personality.
Characters from the Magical World
These characters help the Magimajo Pures in their fight.
- Tiara (ティアラ)
- Played by Mariko Shinoda.
- Tiara owns a jewelry shop. She is from the Magical World and watches over both worlds. She uses a crystal ball to see what's happening. She also provides the magic for the Magimajo Pures to transform.
- Mokonyan (モコニャン)
- Voiced by: Sakura Ando.
- Mokonyan is a pink, cat-like fairy from the Magical World. She is Momoka, Rin, and Mitsuki's partner. She loves drinking Majoka Milk and eating fish-shaped cookies. She often ends her sentences with "nyan."
- Lalanyan (ララニャン, Raranyan)
- Voiced by: Izumi Okamura.
- Lalanyan is another cat-like fairy from the Magical World. She is Shiori's partner. She was captured when she entered the Jama World.
Characters from the Nuisance World
The residents of Jama World (邪魔界, Jamakai, Nuisance World) are the bad guys. They steal people's dreams and turn them into Akiramests.
- Jama Baron (邪魔男爵, Jama Danshaku)
- Played by Kenichi Endō.
- He is the leader of Jama World. He stole the Majoka Jewels. He uses his group, the Jamajama-dan, to take away people's dreams. He later returns as Jama the Great (邪魔大帝, Jama Taitei).
- Jamahiko (邪魔彦)
- Played by Kanata Hosoda.
- Jamahiko is Jama Baron's son. He takes over the Jamajama-dan after his father. He brainwashes Shiori and later pretends to be a normal student named Masahiko Makabe. Yuria reveals he was a human boy kidnapped by Gran Ma.
- Gran Ma (グラン魔)
- Played by Kumiko Mori.
- Gran Ma is Jama Baron's mother and Jamahiko's grandmother. She leads the Jamajama-dan to steal Majoka Jewels after Jamahiko disappears.
The Jamajama-dan
The Jamajama-dan (邪魔邪魔団) are three special Akiramests. They turn others into Akiramests using the Akirame Stones.
- Muritaro (ムリ太郎, Muritarō)
- Played by Louis Kurihara.
- He is a rabbit-themed man. He used to be a comedian who gave up his dream.
- Mudako (ムダ子)
- Played by Akosuya Miki.
- She is the only woman on the team. She is bear-themed with an afro.
- Damenojo (ダメ之丞, Damenojō)
- Played by Osamu Fujiki.
- He is a gorilla-themed man. He used to be a sweets shop apprentice.
How Magical × Heroine Magimajo Pures! Was Made
Magimajo Pures! is the second show in the Girls × Heroine series. Takashi Miike was the main director for this show too. The idea for the show was first registered on November 21, 2017. The actors were chosen from auditions held in the summer of 2017.
The show's name and the first three main actors (Yuki Miyoshi, Momoka Sumitani, and Misaki Tsuruya) were announced on January 30, 2018. Youka Ogawa joined the cast in June 2018. Kurea Masuda was the last actor to be announced on August 25, 2018. The dances in the show were created by EXPG Studio. Before joining the show, Momoka Sumitani, Youka Ogawa, and Kurea Masuda were part of a trainee group called Kizzy.
Takara Tomy made toys for the show. These included magical items, accessories, and costumes. The show's slogan was: "Open the Majoka World! Purelize with sparkling magic!!" (オープン・ザ・マジョカワールド！きらめく魔法でピュアライズ！！)
During the show, the main actors (Yuki Miyoshi, Momoka Sumitani, Misaki Tsuruya, Youka Ogawa, and Kurea Masuda) performed as their characters. They released music as the group Magical². Their first opening song, "Ai ni Tsuite," was first performed in March 2018. Magical² also performed "Fure Fure," the theme song for the Alvark Tokyo basketball team.
Episodes of Magimajo Pures!
Magical × Heroine Magimajo Pures! aired every week on TV Tokyo. It started on April 1, 2018. Episodes were also put on Takara Tomy's YouTube channel one week after they aired. These episodes were available worldwide for a week. Some episodes were even shown with English subtitles at Chara Expo USA 2018.
The show had 51 episodes in total. Some characters from the previous series, Idol × Warrior Miracle Tunes!, appeared in episodes 6 and 16.

Music from the Show
The group Magical² released music during the show's run. They released an album called Magical Best: Complete Magical² Songs in 2019. They also released an extended play (a shorter album) called Harerusa in 2018. Several singles were released, including "Ai ni Tsuite" and "Mirumiru (Mirai Mieru)."
Manga Series
A manga series called Magic × Warrior Magimajo Pures!: Magical na Mainichi (魔法×戦士 マジマジョピュアーズ! 〜マジカルな毎日〜) was also created. It was drawn by Yuuki Harami. The manga started in the Pucchigumi magazine in May 2018.
Video Game Appearance
Momoka's Magical Heroine outfit was available in the game Kiratto Pri Chan. Players could get a special card in Pucchigumi magazine on December 27, 2018, to unlock it for characters Mirai, Emo, and Rinka.
