Who is Malkia Cyril?
Malkia Cyril grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Their mother, Janet Cyril, was an activist. Malkia learned to read at a special bookstore in Harlem. They have said that growing up in a family focused on activism was a "blessing."
Fighting for Fair Internet Access
Malkia Cyril believes that access to the internet should be fair for everyone. This idea is often called Net Neutrality. It means that internet service providers (like your home internet company) should treat all data on the internet equally. They should not block or slow down certain websites or apps.
