Early Life and Education
Mamata Dash was born in Jagatsinghpur on October 4, 1947. Her father, Ramachandra Mohapatra, was a doctor. Her mother's name was Pankajmala. Mamata grew up with four sisters and three brothers. She went to school in Jagatsinghpur first. Later, she studied at Ravenshaw Girls School in Cuttack. Guess what? She started writing when she was just nine years old!
