Mandangala is a small Aboriginal community located in the beautiful Kimberley region of Western Australia. It is part of the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley. People in Mandangala often speak local Aboriginal languages like Miriwoong and Kija.
How Mandangala is Governed
The Mandangala community is managed by its own group called the Mandangala Aboriginal Corporation. This group helps make decisions for the community. It was officially set up on September 10, 1986, under a special law for Aboriginal groups.
Planning Mandangala's Future
The community has a special plan called "Mandangala Layout Plan No.1". This plan helps decide how the town will grow and where things like houses and buildings will go. The Western Australian Planning Commission approved this plan on June 1, 2001. It helps make sure Mandangala develops in a good way for everyone.
