Mangorei is a small community located just outside the city of New Plymouth in the Taranaki area of New Zealand. It's about 5 kilometers (3 miles) north-west of the New Plymouth city center. A main road, State Highway 3, runs close by to the south-west.

One notable feature near Mangorei is Lake Mangamahoe. This beautiful lake is found on the eastern side of State Highway 3.

History of Mangorei School

Mangorei School first opened in 1926. It was created when two older schools, Lower Mangorei School and Kent School, joined together at the current school site. Later, in 1938, Upper Mangorei School closed down. In 1939, Korito School also closed. Students from these schools then came to Mangorei School, which helped its student numbers grow.
