Manuel "Manu" Guix Tornos (born 8 December 1979) is a talented Spanish musician from Barcelona, Spain. He is a composer (someone who writes music), a musical director (who leads the music for shows), and a performer (who sings or plays music).

Manu Guix became well-known through the TV show Operación Triunfo. He has been a coach on the show since it started in 2001. His music journey began early, in 1987, at the Municipal Conservatory of Music in Barcelona. He also studied at the famous Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.

He has released three music albums of his own. Manu has also worked on many musicals, both as a singer and as the musical director. One of the most famous musicals he worked on is Grease.

Manu Guix's Music Career

Manu Guix started his musical training at a young age. He studied piano and other instruments at the Municipal Conservatory of Music in Barcelona. Later, he went to the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. This school was co-founded by Paul McCartney from The Beatles!

Since 2001, Manu has been a key part of Operación Triunfo. This popular TV show helps new singers become stars. As a coach, Manu helps contestants improve their singing and performing skills.

Besides TV, Manu has written music for many shows. He has also directed the music for big musicals. His work on Grease was very popular.

  • 1998: He won another Chair Award for "El somni de Mozart" as the best musical director.
  • 1999: He received a scholarship from the Generalitat of Catalonia to study music abroad.

  • 2009: He was nominated for a Gran Via Musical Theater award for Grease, the musical of your life.
