María Juana

María Juana is a small town in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. It is about 125 kilometers (78 miles) away from Santa Fe, which is the capital city of the province. It is also about 210 kilometers (130 miles) from Rosario, the biggest city in the province. Around 5,000 people live in María Juana.

What María Juana Produces

The main way people in María Juana make a living is by producing milk and dairy products like cheese. But the town also grows and sells other important things. These include soy, wheat, and honey. María Juana also makes and exports different industrial products.

People and Community Life

Most people living in María Juana are descendants of immigrants from Italy. The town has two schools for younger children (elementary schools) and three schools for older students (high schools).

María Juana has its own cable television system, called Cable-Hogar María Juana, which started in the early 1990s. There is also a famous radio station, Radio María Juana FM 101.9. It started in 1978 and has won many awards. It is one of the few radio stations in Argentina that broadcasts its shows all over the world using the internet.
