Marcus Kleveland (born April 25, 1999) is an amazing professional snowboarder from Norway. He is known for his incredible skills in events like slopestyle and big air. Marcus made history by being the first person ever to land a "quad cork 1800" in a competition. This means he did four flips and five spins in the air – a truly difficult and impressive trick!

Early Success and X Games Debut

Marcus started his professional snowboarding career in 2013. He quickly became a rising star. In 2017, he made his first appearance at the Winter X Games, which is a huge competition for extreme sports.

Winter X Games XXI (2017)

At his very first X Games in 2017, Marcus showed off his talent.

  • He won a gold medal in the Slopestyle event. Slopestyle involves riding down a course with different obstacles like jumps and rails.
  • He also earned a silver medal in the Big Air event. Big Air is where snowboarders launch off a huge jump and perform tricks high in the air.

More X Games Wins (2018-2023)

Marcus continued his winning streak at the X Games.

  • In 2018, he won another gold medal in Slopestyle and a silver medal in Big Air.
  • He also started competing in a fun event called Knuckle Huck, where riders use the "knuckle" (the rounded top) of a jump to do creative tricks. He won gold in Knuckle Huck in 2020.
  • In 2021, Marcus took home gold in Big Air.
  • The 2022 Winter X Games were especially great for Marcus. He won three medals: gold in Big Air, gold in Knuckle Huck, and a silver in Slopestyle.
  • He continued his dominance in 2023, winning gold in Big Air and gold in Knuckle Huck, along with a silver in Slopestyle.

Olympic Appearances

Marcus has also represented Norway in the Winter Olympics.

  • At just 18 years old, he competed in his first Olympics in 2018. He finished 6th in Men's Slopestyle and 18th in Big Air.
  • He returned for the 2022 Winter Olympics, placing 8th in Men's Slopestyle.

World Championships Achievements

Besides the X Games and Olympics, Marcus has also performed well at the FIS Snowboard World Championships.

  • In 2017, he won a bronze medal in Big Air.
  • In 2021, he earned a gold medal in Slopestyle and another bronze medal in Big Air.
  • In 2023, he won another gold medal in Slopestyle, showing he is one of the best in the world.
