A Look Back: The Diner's History
This diner has been around for a long time, opening way back in 1941! It has had a few different names over the years. In its early days, it was called Your Host Café. Later, in the 1960s, it became known as Lou's, and then Mike's.
The name "Marcy's Diner" came about in 1989. Marcy Litman owned the diner for ten years before selling it in 1999 to Kevin and Heather Smith. Just two years later, in 2001, Murray and Joely Sparks took over the business.
In 2011, Darla Neugebauer and her family bought the diner. They learned about the opportunity to buy it because the Sparks family needed more time for their new baby.
In 2019, Mandy Lacourse became the new owner of Marcy's Diner. Mandy actually used to work at the diner as a server from 1997 until 2018, so she knows the place very well! On March 8, 2019, the diner celebrated its thirtieth anniversary of being known as Marcy's.
