An Artist and Teacher
After finishing her studies, Margaret started showing her art. She exhibited with a group called the New English Art Club. She also received an important job to paint a large picture, called a mural, for the Holy Trinity Church in Bath. Sadly, this mural was damaged during World War II.
After the war, Margaret Garland stayed in Bath. She taught art for a short time at the Bath Art School. Then, from 1946 to 1958, she taught at the Bath Academy of Art. She worked there under a famous person named Clifford Ellis.
