Margaret Lloyd (born May 27, 1709 – died September 8, 1762) was an important Welsh woman. She was a dedicated worker and activist for the Moravian Church. She was also one of the first members of the Moravian group in London.

Who Was Margaret Lloyd?
Margaret Lloyd came from a place called Llangystennin in North Wales. She had a brother named Robert Lloyd. He later became a rector, which is a type of church leader, in a town called Aber.
Early Life and Faith
Margaret moved to London when she was younger. At first, she joined a different church group called the Wesleyans. But in 1740, she became very interested in the Moravian Church. By the next year, 1741, she was working for them full-time as a helper.
Working for the Moravians
In 1743, Margaret was given an important job. She was asked to help manage the Moravian Church in Yorkshire, England. She met Thomas Moore there, and they got married on August 27, 1744.
Margaret and Thomas were very active in their church work. They sometimes disagreed with the way things were run by German leaders at the mission. Because of their strong opinions, they were even separated from the Moravian Church for a short time.
Her Influence and Legacy
Later, Margaret and Thomas were welcomed into The Brethren Church. Margaret became very well-known for her strong influence. She helped guide the Moravian Brethren in North Wales.
Margaret Lloyd passed away in Leeds on September 8, 1762. She was buried in the cemetery of the Brethren church in a place called Fulneck. Her life showed her strong faith and dedication to helping others through her church work.
