Margareta Xenopol was a talented Romanian musician. She was a composer, a pianist, and a singer. Margareta was born in Iași, Romania, on January 28, 1892. She passed away in Bucharest on July 8, 1979.

Margareta loved music from a young age. She started by learning piano. Later, she studied piano in Dresden, Germany. She also learned to sing and compose music. Some of her teachers included Alexandru Zirra and Paul Constantinescu. A famous Romanian opera singer, Elena Cernei, even recorded some of Margareta's songs.

Margareta Xenopol enjoyed creating music for poems. She often took words written by Romanian poets and turned them into songs. Between 1937 and 1952, she wrote many waltzes and tangos. These were popular dance styles at the time. In 1972, she started working on a small opera, called an operetta. Sadly, she passed away before she could finish it.
