Maria Bello (born April 18, 1967) is an American actress and producer. She has starred in many popular movies and TV shows. Her first big movie role was in Permanent Midnight in 1998.
She has been in films like Coyote Ugly (2000), The Cooler (2003), and A History of Violence (2005). She also appeared in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008) and Grown Ups (2010).
On TV, Maria Bello is well-known for playing Dr. Anna Del Amico in the medical show ER (1997–1998). She also played Jacqueline "Jack" Sloane in the police drama NCIS (2017–2021). In 2023, she was nominated for an Emmy Award for her role in the series Beef.

Maria Bello was born on April 18, 1967, in Norristown, Pennsylvania. Her mother, Kathy, was a school nurse and teacher. Her father, Joe Bello, was a contractor. Her family was Catholic and working-class.
Maria's father has Italian roots, and her mother is Polish American. She went to Archbishop John Carroll High School. Later, she studied political science at Villanova University. After college, she started acting in plays in New York.
Acting Career Highlights
Maria Bello started her TV career with small parts in shows like The Commish (1991) and Due South (1994). She got her first main role as Mrs. Smith in the TV spy show Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
She then joined the popular medical drama ER as Dr. Anna Del Amico. She was a regular cast member for the show's fourth season.
Maria Bello moved into movies, starring in Coyote Ugly in 2000. She was nominated for a Golden Globe award twice. Once for The Cooler (2003) and again for A History of Violence (2005).

Personal Life and Family
Maria Bello has one son named Jackson. He was born from her relationship with her former boyfriend, Dan McDermott.
In 2015, Maria Bello published a book called Whatever...Love Is Love: Questioning the Labels We Give Ourselves. In February 2020, she announced her engagement to chef Dominique Crenn. They got married in Mexico on May 12, 2024.
Helping Others (Philanthropy)
Maria Bello is very active in helping others. After the big earthquake in Haiti in 2010, she started an organization called WE ADVANCE. This group helps Haitian women work together to improve healthcare. It also aims to stop violence in their communities.
The organization has a health clinic and a community center in Haiti. Maria Bello has also helped raise money for victims of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. She is also on the board of the Darfur Women Action Group. This group works to help victims of conflict in Darfur.
