Her Life and Studies
Maria Teresa Luengo was born in Quilmes, a city in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She loved music from a young age. She went to the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires. She graduated in 1969. There, she learned from famous composers like Alberto Ginastera and Gerardo Gandini.
In 1973, Maria Teresa received a special scholarship. This helped her study electro-acoustic music. This type of music uses electronic sounds. She learned from experts like Francisco Krópfl. During this time, she wrote a piece called The Book of Mirrors.
Teaching Career
Maria Teresa Luengo also shared her knowledge with others. From 1974 to 1975, she taught at the University of El Salvador. In 1984, she started teaching music composition at the National University of La Plata. She also taught at the Municipal School of Fine Arts Carlos Morel in Quilmes for many years.
In 1990, she helped create a new study program. It was for Electroacoustic Music at the National University of Quilmes. She became the director and a professor in this program. She helped many students learn about electronic music.
