Marian Kociniak (born January 11, 1936 – died March 17, 2016) was a famous Polish actor. He was well-known for his roles in movies and plays. One of his most famous parts was in the 1970 comedy film How I Unleashed World War II.

About His Life

Marian Kociniak was born in Warsaw, Poland. He studied acting at a special school called The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. He finished his studies in 1959.

After graduating, he started working at the Ateneum Theatre in Warsaw. He acted there for almost his entire career. He also appeared on television, performing in plays and shows. You might have seen him in the popular show Kabaret Starszych Panów.

His Acting Career

Marian Kociniak's first movie role was in 1959 in a film called Mr. Professor. He went on to act in over 30 movies! He also worked on the radio, especially in a show called 60 minut na godzinę.

He became very popular for playing Franek Dolas in the funny Polish movie How I Unleashed World War II. He was also well-known for his role as a burgrave in the TV show Janosik.

In 2003, he was honored at the Festival of Stars in Międzyzdroje. He continued to act until his death in 2016 in Warsaw.

His Family Life

Marian Kociniak was married to Grażyna Kociniak for over 50 years. She was a film editor. They had one daughter together. Marian Kociniak also had a cousin, Jan Kociniak, who was also a theater and film actor.
