Marianne Stone (born August 23, 1922 – died December 21, 2009) was an English actress. She was known for playing many different characters in films and TV shows. Marianne acted from the early 1940s until the late 1980s. She often played everyday people like barmaids, secretaries, or landladies. She was especially famous for appearing in nine of the popular Carry On comedy films. She also appeared in an episode of the Carry On Laughing TV series.

Marianne Stone's Acting Career
Marianne Stone acted in over 200 films during her career! That's a lot of movies. She was sometimes called "Mugsie" by her friends. In her early films, she was even credited as "Mary Stone" or "Marion Stone."
She appeared in many well-known movies. These include Brighton Rock (1947), Seven Days to Noon (1950), and The 39 Steps (1959). She also had a role in Lolita (1962). Marianne even worked with famous comedian Norman Wisdom in some films.
One of her more serious roles was as Lena Van Broecken. She played this character in three episodes of the BBC TV series Secret Army between 1977 and 1978. Marianne retired from acting in the 1980s.

Marianne Stone was married for 50 years to Peter Noble. He was an actor who later became a film historian and theatre critic. They were married from 1947 until 1997. Marianne and Peter had two children together. One of their children is the well-known DJ, Kara Noble.
