Mariano Recalde is an Argentine lawyer and politician. He was born on April 8, 1972. He is a member of the Justicialist Party.
Since December 2019, he has been a National Senator for the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. He represents the Frente de Todos political group. Before becoming a Senator, he served as a Legislator in the Buenos Aires City Legislature. He was also the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, which is Argentina's main state-owned airline, from 2009 to 2015.

Early Life and Education
Growing Up in Buenos Aires
Mariano Recalde was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His father, Héctor Recalde, was also a well-known lawyer and politician.
Mariano attended high school at the Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires. While there, he was the president of the student union. This means he helped represent the students' interests.
Studying Law
Like his father, Mariano chose to study law. He went to the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). After finishing his studies in Argentina, he traveled to Spain.
In Spain, he specialized in labor law. He studied at two different universities: the University of Salamanca and the University of Castilla–La Mancha.
Advanced Studies and Teaching
Mariano Recalde also earned a doctorate degree in labor law from the University of Buenos Aires. His special research was about how laws and agreements between workers and companies work together.
He has also taught at the University of Buenos Aires. He was a professor for courses on private law and labor law.
Political Career
Starting in Politics
Mariano Recalde is one of the people who helped start La Cámpora. This is a political youth organization in Argentina.
Key Roles in Government
He is currently a Senator for the City of Buenos Aires. He took on this role in December 2019.
From 2009 to December 2015, he was the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas. This is the national airline of Argentina.
In 2015, he ran for mayor of Buenos Aires. He won the primary elections for his party, the Front for Victory. However, his party finished third in the main election.
Since February 6, 2020, he has been a member of the Council of Magistracy of the Nation. This council helps manage the justice system in Argentina. He represents the Senate on this council.
Personal Life
Mariano Recalde has three children. Their names are María Eva, Sara, and Juan Pedro. His daughter María Eva is named after Eva Perón, a very famous figure in Argentine history.
He is also a big fan of the Boca Juniors football (soccer) team.
