Mariano Recalde (born 8 April 1972) is an Argentine lawyer and politician. He is a member of the Justicialist Party. He currently serves as a National Senator for the City of Buenos Aires. He has held this position since December 2019. He represents the Frente de Todos political group.
Before becoming a senator, he was a Legislator in the Buenos Aires City Legislature. He also served as the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas. This is Argentina's main state-owned airline. He led the airline from 2009 to 2015.

Early Life and Education
Mariano Recalde was born on 8 April 1972 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His father, Héctor Recalde, was also a well-known lawyer and politician.
School and University Years
Mariano went to high school at the Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires. While there, he was the president of the school's student union. After high school, he followed in his father's footsteps. He studied law at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
He continued his studies in Spain. He specialized in labour law at the University of Salamanca and the University of Castilla–La Mancha. Labour law is about the rules and rights related to jobs and workers.
Advanced Studies and Teaching
Mariano Recalde also earned a doctorate (PhD) in labour law from the University of Buenos Aires. A doctorate is a very high university degree. His special research was about how laws and agreements work together in the workplace.
He has also taught at the University of Buenos Aires. He was a professor for courses on private law and collective labour law.
Political Career
Mariano Recalde is an important figure in Argentine politics. He was one of the people who helped start La Cámpora. This is a political youth organization in Argentina.
Key Roles in Government
He is currently a senator for the City of Buenos Aires. He represents the Frente de Todos political group. From 2009 to December 2015, he was the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas. This is Argentina's national airline.
In 2015, he ran for mayor of Buenos Aires. He won the primary elections for his party, the Front for Victory. However, his party finished third in the main election.
Since February 2020, he has been a member of the Council of Magistracy of the Nation. This council helps choose and oversee judges in Argentina. He represents the Senate on this council.
Personal Life
Mariano Recalde has three children. Their names are María Eva, Sara, and Juan Pedro. His daughter María Eva is named after Eva Perón, a famous historical figure in Argentina.
He is also a big fan of the Boca Juniors football team.
