Mariano Rodríguez de Ledesma (Zaragoza, 14 December 1779 - Madrid, 28 March 1847) was an important Spanish composer. He created many beautiful musical pieces during his lifetime.

Early Life and Musical Start

Mariano Rodríguez de Ledesma was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1779. His journey into music began very early. When he was just 8 years old, he joined the choir at the famous Zaragoza Cathedral. This was a big step for a young boy who loved music.

He learned a lot from his teacher, Francisco Javier García. People often called his teacher «el Españoleto». Mariano was also very interested in Italian music. This style of music had a big impact on his own compositions.

Mariano Rodríguez de Ledesma wrote many different kinds of music. He was especially known for his songs. He composed songs in both Spanish and Italian. His works often showed the influence of the Italian music he admired.
