Early Life and Soccer Beginnings
Mimi Alidou was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She grew up in Saint-Hubert. Her father is from Benin, and her mother is French Canadian.
Mimi started playing soccer at a young age. She spent most of her youth career with CS St-Hubert. She also played for other teams like FC St-Leonard. When she was 13, she joined the National High Performance Centre. She later moved to Newark, New Jersey to attend high school there.
College Soccer Career
Alidou went to the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) for college. In 2016, she was recognized for her excellent play. She was named the RSEQ Player of the Week. She also won UQAM Athlete of the Year. She was chosen as an RSEQ First Team All-Star and a U Sports Second Team All-Star.

In 2017, Mimi joined Olympique de Marseille, a club in France. After that, she moved to Sweden to play for Linköpings FC in 2018. A year later, she joined Sporting de Huelva in Spain. She then played for Klepp IL in Norway from 2020 to 2021. In 2022, she played for Sturm Graz in Austria.
Success in Portugal
In 2022, Mimi signed with Famalicão in Portugal. She quickly became a key player for the team. She was named the league's player of the month in February and March. She helped Famalicão win their first-ever Taça de Portugal trophy.
In the summer of 2023, she joined Benfica, another big club in Portugal. On October 11, 2023, she scored two goals in a UEFA Women's Champions League match. This is a very important competition for European clubs. In her first season, Mimi helped Benfica have a historic year. They won all four domestic competitions in Portugal.
Alidou also helped Benfica reach the quarter-finals of the 2023–24 UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time. This was a big achievement for a Portuguese club.
