Who is Marija Makarovič?
Marija Makarovič was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She studied at the University of Ljubljana. In 1953, she finished her studies there.

After college, Marija worked at the Slovene Ethnographic Museum. She was a curator from 1953 to 1989. A curator helps take care of museum collections. They also organize exhibitions.
Leading an Institute
From 1993 to 1997, Marija led an important institute. It was the Urban Jarnik Slovene Ethnographic Institute. This institute is located in Klagenfurt.
