Marques started his football journey in Brazil. He played for big clubs like Corinthians, Flamengo, São Paulo, and Atlético Mineiro. He spent a lot of his career at Atlético Mineiro, where he was a fan favorite.
Playing in Japan
In 2003, Marques moved to Japan to play for Nagoya Grampus Eight. He quickly became a key player there. In the J1 League that year, he was ranked second for the most assists, which means he helped his teammates score goals 10 times! Only one other player had more assists than him. Marques also formed a great team with another Brazilian player, Ueslei, who scored the most goals in the J1 League that season. After Nagoya, he also played for Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan.
