Marta's Early Life and Education
Marta Balletbò-Coll first studied science! She got a degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Barcelona. This is a type of science that looks at what things are made of.
After her science studies, she worked as a journalist from 1982 to 1986. A journalist is someone who writes news stories for newspapers or magazines. Later, she moved to the United States and worked as a translator. A translator changes words from one language to another.
