Mary Knight Wood Mason (born April 17, 1857 – died December 20, 1944) was an amazing American musician. She was a talented pianist, a music teacher, and a composer who wrote many songs.

About Mary Knight Wood Mason

Mary was born in Easthampton, Massachusetts. Her dad was Horatio G. Knight. He was a very important person. He was a lieutenant-governor, which is a high government job. He also owned factories and gave money to good causes. Her mom was Mary Ann Huntoon Knight.

Mary went to school in big cities. She studied at the Charlier Institute in New York City. She also attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Connecticut. She loved music and learned from great teachers. Some of her teachers were Karl Klauser, Benjamin Johnson Lang, and Henry Holden Huss.

Mary got married twice. In 1879, she married Charles Greenleaf Wood from Boston. Later, in 1914, she married Alfred Bishop Mason from New York. After her second marriage, she lived in New York City. She spent her summers at a cozy cabin in the Catskill Mountains. Mary passed away in Florence, Italy.
