Maryana Aleksandrovna Naumova (born April 22, 1999) is a Russian powerlifter, journalist, and TV presenter. She became famous for her strength in the bench press and was one of the best young female lifters in the world. Maryana has won many world championships and set over 15 world records for her age group. She also holds a special sports title in Russia.

Between 2009 and 2016, she competed in many powerlifting events around the world. She set records in different sports groups. Maryana was the first girl under 18 years old allowed to compete in professional powerlifting. She even appeared on the cover of Powerlifting USA magazine.

In 2016, a sports group found that Maryana had used forbidden substances. Because of this, she was not allowed to compete for two years. She started competing again in 2018.

Since 2022, Maryana Naumova has been a TV presenter. She works on a show called Vremya Pokazhet on Channel One. She also reports from different places and shares her experiences online.

Early Life and Sports

Maryana was born on April 22, 1999, in a town called Staraya Russa in Russia. She went to school in Khimki. After finishing high school in 2017, she started studying at the Russian State University for the Humanities.

When she was four years old, in 2003, she started doing sports aerobics. In 2009, when she was ten, she began powerlifting. She focused on the bench press, which is a lift where you push a weight up while lying on a bench.

Maryana Naumova made history as the first female athlete under 18 to compete in professional powerlifting events. In March 2015, she took part in the Arnold Classic. There, she set a new record for women in the Arnold BenchBach event by lifting 150 kg.

After the competition, she spoke with Arnold Schwarzenegger. She asked him to help improve relations between Russia and the United States. She also gave him letters from children in the Donbas region. Maryana has said that Arnold Schwarzenegger is a very important person in her life.

A Challenge in Her Career

In March 2016, Maryana Naumova faced a challenge in her sports career. She was the only female athlete from a major powerlifting group to compete at the Arnold Sports Festival. During this time, a test showed that she had used substances that were not allowed in sports.

Because of this, the sports group stopped her from competing for two years. She also had to pay a fine. Maryana returned to competitive powerlifting in 2018.
