María Florencia Botto Rota, born on February 10, 1974, is a talented actress from Argentina and Spain. When she was just four years old, in 1978, she moved to Spain with her mother, Cristina Rota, and her brother, Juan Diego Botto. Both her mother and brother are also actors!
María started acting in movies when she was only 10 years old. Her very first film was called Berta's Motives. Later, she also became well-known for her TV roles. For example, she played Ava Pereira in the TV show Good Behavior on the TNT network. Interestingly, her brother Juan Diego Botto also starred in that show!
Acting Career
María Botto has had a long and successful career in both movies and television. She has worked on many different projects, showing her skills as an actress.
Movies
María's first movie was Berta's Motives in 1984. Since then, she has appeared in many films. Some of her notable movie roles include:
- Celos (1999), where she played Cinta Vidal.
- Soldados de Salamina (2003), where she acted as Conchi.
- Carmen (2003), playing Fernanda.
- Los abajo firmantes (2003), where she played Laura and also helped write the film!
- Risen (2016), an international film where she played Mary Magdalene.
- Hustle (2022), a movie where she played Paola.

Besides movies, María Botto has also been a part of many popular TV series.
- In 2005 and 2006, she starred in 7 días al desnudo as Marta Castillo.
- From 2009 to 2010, she played Marta in the series Pelotas.
- She joined the show Bajo sospecha in its second season in 2016, playing Sara Guzmán.
- From 2016 to 2017, she had a recurring role as Ava in Good Behavior.
- More recently, in 2023, she appeared in El otro lado as Eva.
