Masakazu Suzuki (鈴木 政一, Suzuki Masakazu, born January 1, 1955) is a famous Japanese football player and manager. He was born in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. He is known for his time playing as a defender. After his playing days, he became a successful coach. As of July 2025, he is the assistant coach for the Myanmar national football team.

Playing Career Highlights
Masakazu Suzuki was born on January 1, 1955. He loved football from a young age. After finishing his studies at Nippon Sport Science University, he joined the Yamaha Motors football team. He played for them from 1977 to 1982. During his time as a player, he helped his team win the Emperor's Cup in 1982. This was a big achievement for him and his team.
Coaching Journey
After he stopped playing football, Suzuki started his coaching career. He began as a coach at Yamaha Motors in 1984. He worked hard and learned a lot about managing a team.
Leading Júbilo Iwata
In 2000, Masakazu Suzuki became the main manager for Júbilo Iwata. He took over from the previous manager, Gjoko Hadžievski. Under his leadership, Júbilo Iwata became very strong. In 2002, he led the team to win the J1 League championship. This was a huge success for the club and for Suzuki. After this great win, he decided to step down as manager. He also had a short period as manager for Júbilo Iwata again in 2004.
Coaching National and Other Teams
In 2013, Suzuki took on a new challenge. He became the manager for the Japan U-20 national team. He helped train young, talented players for Japan. Later, in 2018, he joined J2 League club Albirex Niigata as their manager. However, the team did not perform as well as hoped. He left the club in August of that year. From 2020 to 2021, he returned to manage Júbilo Iwata once more.
