Location of Masuho in Yamanashi Prefecture

Masuho (増穂町, Masuho-chō) was once a small town in Japan. It was located in the Minamikoma District of Yamanashi Prefecture.

What Was Masuho?

Masuho was a charming town situated in the Minamikoma District. In 2003, about 13,083 people lived there. The town covered an area of 65.17 square kilometers. This means that for every square kilometer, there were about 200 people living there. This measurement is called "population density."

The Merger of Towns

Over time, towns in Japan sometimes join together to form bigger towns. This happened to Masuho. On March 8, 2010, Masuho merged with another town called Kajikazawa. Both towns were from the same district. When they merged, they created a new, larger town named Fujikawa. So, Masuho no longer exists as a separate town, but its history lives on as part of Fujikawa.
