The Story of Maull's
The Louis Maull company began a long time ago in 1897. At first, it was a small grocery business. They sold their products from a wagon pulled by a horse. In 1905, the company officially became the Louis Maull Cheese and Fish company. They started selling their products to restaurants and grocery stores instead of directly to people.
Around 1920, Maull's began selling other food items like sauces. But it wasn't until 1926 that they created their famous barbecue sauce recipe. This sauce quickly became their most popular product. Because it was so successful, the company decided to focus only on making and selling barbecue sauce. The Maull family still owns and runs the business in St. Louis today.
In the 1970s and 1980s, you might have heard their catchy advertising slogan on the radio and TV: "Don't baste your barbecue, You Gotta Maull it!"
For a short time, Maull's Barbeque Sauce stopped taking orders on January 9, 2018. But good news for fans! Maull's Barbeque Sauce became available again in St. Louis, Missouri, grocery stores in July 2018.
