Mayi-Kutuna facts for kids
The Mayi-Kutuna people, also known as Mayaguduna or Maikudunu, are an Aboriginal Australian group. They originally lived in the Cape York Peninsula region of Queensland, Australia. Sadly, their traditional language is no longer spoken today.
Where the Mayi-Kutuna Lived
The Mayi-Kutuna people had a large traditional homeland. It covered about 9,800 square kilometers (or 3,800 square miles). This area stretched from a place called Augustus Downs in the north. It went south to the middle part of the Leichhardt River. Their land also reached Mount Cuthbert in the south. To the west, their territory extended to the edge of the inland plateau.
