Mercaderes (pronounced meɾkaˈðeɾes) is a town and a local government area called a municipality in the Cauca Department, Colombia. It is located in the southwestern part of Colombia.
In 2018, about 14,824 people lived in Mercaderes. A municipality is like a county or district. It has its own local government.
Climate
Mercaderes has a tropical monsoon climate. This means it is generally warm all year round. The temperatures usually stay between 22 and 29 degrees Celsius (72-84°F).
The area also experiences a lot of rain. Some months are much wetter than others. The average yearly rainfall is around 1,200 to 1,500 millimeters (47-59 inches). This climate supports rich plant life.
