She used to play for big teams like Melbourne, Geelong, and Fremantle in the AFL Women's (AFLW) competition. Currently, she plays rugby for the Melbourne Rebels in the Super W competition.

Playing in the AFLW League
Time with Melbourne Football Club
Mia-Rae Clifford was chosen by the Melbourne Demons in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She was the 89th player picked overall.
She played her very first game in the 2017 season. This was against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields. She played in all seven games that season. After the season, Melbourne decided not to keep her on their team.
Joining Geelong Football Club
In August 2018, Clifford joined the Geelong Cats. This team was new to the AFLW league. She played for Geelong during the 2019 season. In April 2019, Geelong also decided to let her go from their team.
Playing for Fremantle Football Club
Right after leaving Geelong in April 2019, Mia-Rae was signed by the Fremantle Dockers. She played for Fremantle in the 2020 season. In August 2020, Fremantle also delisted her from their team.
Playing in the VFLW League
Success with Essendon Football Club
In November 2020, Clifford joined the Essendon Football Club's women's team in the VFLW (Victorian Women's Football League). She quickly became a star player.
In 2021, Mia-Rae was named the leading goal kicker for the season. This means she scored the most goals for her team.
At the start of the 2022 season, Clifford was chosen as a Co-Captain. She shared this leadership role with Georgia Nanscawen. Together, they led the team to an amazing undefeated season. They won the 2022 Rebel VFLW Grand Final in July 2022, becoming the Major Premiers.
Mia-Rae's Rugby Career
After her football career, Clifford started playing rugby union. She joined the Melbourne Rebels team for the 2023 Super W season. This shows her talent in different sports!
