Early Fights and Challenges

Becoming a World Champion

A big moment for Mickey Bey came on September 13, 2014. He fought Miguel Vázquez for the IBF lightweight title. After 12 rounds, the judges made a "split decision." This means they didn't all agree, but most of them thought Bey won. So, Mickey Bey became a world champion for the first time! Giving Up His Title

Because he didn't fight to defend his title, he had to give it up. On July 3, 2015, Mickey Bey officially gave up his IBF lightweight championship. He had not defended the title even once.

On June 3, 2016, Bey fought Rances Barthelemy. This fight was also for the IBF lightweight championship. Barthelemy won the fight by a split decision.

Later, on December 14, 2019, Mickey Bey fought George Kambosos Jr.. This fight took place in New York City. After 10 rounds, Kambosos Jr. won by a split decision.
